COURSE OBJECTIVE

The training programme aims to produce competent instructors who have the Advanced Skill Diploma (Level 5) in specific fields in accordance with Act 652 (National Skills Development Act).

FRAMEWORK FOR TRAINING:

  • The Malaysian Skill Diploma (DKM) is a course of 2 years 6 months that includes core subjects (Level 5), a final project and industrial training for 1 year 9 months. The Vocational Training Officer (VTO) Certificate Course is 9½ months and includes studying Vocational Methodology for 3 ½ months and an internship for 6 months.
  • The Vocational Trainer Diploma (DPV) course is 1 year 9 months and includes classroom learning of core subjects (Level 5), a final project and industrial training.
  • Those who successfully complete the courses will be awarded the ADVANCED MALAYSIAN SKILL DIPLOMA LEVEL 5 and VOCATIONAL TRAINING OFFICER CERTIFICATE LEVEL 3 from the Department of Skill Development.

  5. Vocational Trainer Advanced Diploma in Electronic Technology
  6. Vocational Trainer Advanced Diploma in Automotive Technology
  7. Vocational Trainer Advanced Diploma in Welding Technology

DURATION OF TRAINING:

  1. Malaysian Skill Diploma: 2 years 6 months
  2. Vocational Trainer Diploma: 1 year 9 months

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Applicants must be Malaysian citizens between 20 and 35 years.
  2. They must have (a) SPM or SPMV with a pass in Malay and History (for SPM candidates from 2013 onwards);
    and
    (b) a Vocational Trainer Diploma (DPV); or Malaysian Skill Diploma (DKM) in a relevant NOSS.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

 Those who successfully complete the courses can apply for positions as vocational instructors in public or private skill training institutes.
