Welcome to CIAST Portal<\/h3>\r\n

CIAST or the Centre for Instructor Advanced Skill Training is an agency which develops highly skilled TVET instructors in line with the needs of our country in empowering skill instructors in Malaysia. Since its inception in 1984, CIAST has produced many instructors in various fields to cater for the needs of various skill training institutions. As an agency under the Department of Skill Development (DSD),<\/strong> CIAST has been mandated to conduct programmes and courses that focus on the development of highly skilled trainers. Among the major programmes conducted is the Vocational Training Officer (VTO) Certificate course<\/strong> which uses NOSS I-031-3:2014 (Vocational Training Operation).<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

It is a nine (9)-month course, of which three (3) months is for teaching technique training at CIAST and six (6) months is for teaching training practical at an accredited centre organised by the Department of Skill Development. The VTO course is divided into two categories, i.e. pre-service and in-service.<\/p>\r\n

CIAST has developed a Malaysian TVET Instructor Competency Profile system called TVET instructor e-profiling. It is a system where the information on the TVET instructor\u2019s skills has been collected and consolidated to compare with the ability checklist to obtain the instructor\u2019s competency gap. The ability checklist has been produced using the CUDBAS (Curriculum Development Based on Vocational Ability Structure) method. All TVET instructors in Malaysia are welcome to register themselves in this system.<\/p>\r\n

Along with the latest developments in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0), CIAST too is offering courses related to skill enhancement and lifelong learning in fields such as Automotive, Electronics, Welding, Computer Systems, Computer Networks, Mechatronics and Manufacturing. The list and information on the course modules offered are in the CIAST e-kursus system. Applications can also be made online through the e-kursus system.<\/p>\r\n
